Rules

  • Each Team Starts From 40 Yard Line
  • 3 Downs To First Down at 25 yard Line and 10 Yard Line, 4 Downs Inside 10 Yard Line
  • 6 Points For Touchdown
  • 1 Point for Conversion From 5 Yard Line
  • 2 Points For Conversion From 10 Yard Line
  • 3 Points For Interception
  • Standard In Game Penalties Apply, except offside on offense is loss of down, Interference on Defense Ball goes to spot of nearest first down marker, if inside 10 yard line and interference in endzone ball goes to 1 yard line. Any offensive interference is loss of down
  • Fumbles can be picked up if fumbled by quarterback, down the field fumbles and skill player fumbles are down at the point of fumble
  • 20 Minutes Running Clock
  • No Bumping Beyond Initial 5 yards of LOS
  • If Game Ends in Tie Each Team has one play from 40 yard line, whoever gains the most yards wins​

Schedule & Details

  • Coaches Meeting 8:00am, Games Start 9:00am
  • Every team plays 4 games in their bracket
  • Playoff Semifinal games are determined in this order by: best record, then points scored, then head to head
  • We will play semifinal and final round in playoffs
  • Schedule will be released online and given to coaches
  • NJSIAA referees will be refereeing every game

7-on-7 Football Rules
 
1.        Field Dimensions:
            a. Field Length - 40 yards long
            b. Field Width - 160 feet or 53.333 yards
            c. End Zone - 10 yards deep
 
2.        Starting the Game:
            a.         All games begin and end on the designated time-keeper’s instructions. He will also announce the time remaining at the 10, 5 and 2 minute mark.
            b.        Games are 20 minutes long. No time-outs. Running clock. In the event of an injury the game clock will continue unless the medical staff determines that the injury is serious enough to stop the clock (i.e. the player cannot leave the field on his own).
 
3.        General Rules/Moving the Ball:
            a.         Offense has 3 downs to make a first down (25 yard line, then 3 downs to make the 10 then 4 downs to score).
            b.        Quarterback has 4 seconds to throw the ball (counted by referee).
            c.         No running plays, including the QB.
            d.        Only five receivers are eligible.
            e.        A sack equals a loss of down. Restart at original line of scrimmage.
            f.         On an interception, turnover to team, on fumble down field play is dead, behind line of scrimmage play may continue if its QB that fumbled.
            g.        Change of possession restarts the new offense at the 40-yard-line.
            H.        The ball is dead when the ball carrier is touched with one hand below the shoulders. (No other contact is permitted.)
            I.          Defense must yield to the Offense. Avoid contact!
            J.          No bumping receivers five yards beyond the LOS. No blocking permitted.
            K.        The defense may have only 7 defenders in coverage.
 
4.        Offensive Penalties = Loss of Down
            a.         Pass interference
            b.        Deliberate blocking
            c.         Off-sides / Illegal motion
 
5.        Defensive Penalties = 5 yards & Repeat Down
            a.         Off-sides
            b.        Illegal contact / holding
            c.         Pass interference
 
6.        Scoring:
            a.         6 points are awarded for each touchdown.
            b.        PAT: From 5 =1 Point or From 10 = 2 Points.
            c.         3 points for an Int.
 
7.        Tie-Breaker:
            a.        Each team gets 1 play, whoever gets the most yards wins.
